Wes Bolton
2nd Trombone
In 1993 Wes joined a group that ultimately became DCJB but he has been in some type of musical group since 5th grade, including a stint in college where he toured the US, Canada and South America with a ministry group called “The Continental Singers”.  Wes has also played in his church orchestra and a local German band, Kleineblasmusik.  He is a science instructional specialist who teaches physics at West Mesquite High School and says of his association with DCJB: “Playing music with the DCJB and having the chance to perform in churches and other settings is a wonderful privilege.  Playing and listening to music is God’s gift to us and I am always grateful to come together with a group of like-minded musicians to do what I love”.

Rick Weaver
3rd Trombone

Rick joined DCJB in 2012.  After being a member of the Texas Aggie Band in college he laid his horn down for 20 years before picking it back up again to begin playing in the orchestra at First Baptist Church of Plano, where he is a deacon, a Sunday School teacher and still playing in the orchestra.  Rick is retired following 40 year professional career as a Program Manager with AT&T and Rockwell Collins.  He enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren and doing volunteer work.  In addition to his membership in DCJB, Rick is also a sub with Swingtime Jazz Band.  He says of his experience with DCJB, “I particularly love praising God by playing familiar hymn tunes in a jazz, swing or rock setting and seeing the reactions of audience members when a song brings back a memory or touches their heart.”
